Notes:

This is useful for finding something ON MY SITE that you think you once saw, figure might/should be here, etc. It works like most other search engines, but to get familiar with it, try this simple test (read first and/or print out to follow along):
  1. Enter the search string "Magic" (capitalized, but without the quotes) and click the Submit button.
  2. A new page will be shown with all the matches of pages it found containing that word and hyperlinks to them.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the list and see how many matches it found. (E.g., 10 matches in 8 files.)
  4. Scroll back up and look over the matches a bit. Notice that the word "magic" is in bold type in an excerpt from everywhere it found that word. Notice that it includes both "Magic" (one of my dogs) and "magic" (usually to do with Fubsy the Clown).
  5. Now use your browser's Back button and come back to this search page. Try another search with the same string, this time specifiying "Case Sensitive" by checking that checkbox.
  6. Click Submit and see the results. Obviously, this time only the pages that had that word in the same upper- and lowercase combination were retrieved. (E.g., 8 matches in 6 files.)
  7. Experiment with the misspellings option. Try searching for "magc" (leave out the "i") and change the misspellings box from "0" to "1". Click Submit and see that it returns the same things it did in #1. They're not in boldface, however, because it wasn't looking for exact matches.
  8. Play with partial strings as well, if you'd like, but remember that the more general the string, the more pages that will be returned. For example, if you typed just "ma" and checked Partial Match and did the search, it would return hundreds of pages since those letters ("ma") appear in these words: images, Christmas, animations, May, etc. This is why/when you'd limit the results to a certain number of instances per file or total number of files found in those dropdown choice boxes.

(Editorial note: If your search finds a file that usually appears on my web site in frames, such as jokes, puns, wordplay, etc., if you click on the link from the search, its presentation will not match how it would look if you had navigated there the "traditional" way. No matter, though, except it looks uglier this way!)
